Each School, a unique reality

Comprised of nine schools, paving NOVA´s Sustainability Journey has the dual challenge of catering to each school´s specificities whist pursuing a shared vision for the future. Our Schools are located across eight Campi (Campolide, Carcavelos, Caparica, Junqueira, Oeiras, Avenida de Berna, Santana and Lumiar) and four municipalities (Lisboa, Almada, Oeiras and Cascais).

These are diverse and lively precincts, including green areas in an open campus concept. Pedestrians have priority and can walk around multi-purposed buildings encompassing classrooms, laboratories, canteens, offices, and sports centres. Each school has a particular reality to navigate and takes its own governance scheme and agenda to address their most material topics, ranging from energy and water consumption, mobility, diversity, equity and inclusion. NOVA rectorship and social services have their own initiatives covering similar topics to increase sustainable standards in its infrastructures and services provided.
