Proteins in Disease Mechanisms

This course is designed to provide the students with concrete examples of protein-related molecular and cellular mechanisms associated with various human diseases, including neurodegenerative and cardiovascular diseases, cancer, inborn errors of metabolism and viral and bacterial infection. The knowledge is acquired in the perspective of understanding the molecular basis of disease, on learning about different scientific approaches towards this understanding, and on devising therapeutic strategies and nutritional options.
