On this course the students are exposed to a progressive sequence of knowledge, starting by language and general concepts, according to study of nutritional requirements and recommendations, and ending with an integrated view of recommended intakes of nutrients and nutritional goals for specific groups and the effects of nutritional imbalances and deficits. To know the nutritional characteristics of different dietary patterns and their impact on the health of individuals is one of the big objetives for this UC. Students learn how to make recommendations to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, teenagers, the elderly, athletes. Practical considerations inherent to the recommended intakes to ensure a healthy life and promote well-being for all, at all ages.
