A student who has completed the course is expected to: Knowledge – Have a solid knowledge of ecological theories and factors that regulate the structure and diversity of ecosystems. Have in-depth knowledge on the functioning of terrestrial biomes and of the most representative and singular ecosystems of Portugal, can identify the main anthropogenic pressures operating on them and find solutions to mitigate their negative impacts; Skills – Can use ecological principles in an applied perspective such as in territorial planning, management of natural resources, nature conservation and adaptation to global change. Is capable of finding the most appropriate data, organize it and develop and apply procedures and tools for solving real-world problems, at diferente scales; Competences – s able not only to autonomously evaluate the proposed problem but also to work in a team for its solving. Has become proficient in scientific communication.
