Students will acquire knowledge about the global energy system and its impact on the planet’s climate change. They will understand how this problem is being managed at a global level (institutions, policies and initiatives) and what the transition to energy neutrality by 2050 entails.
They will have knowledge about technological options for the energy transition (renewable production, energy storage, mobility and prosumers), as well as policy instruments for their promotion, and their role for companies. They will learn to work with energy and emissions data, efficient energy use and energy audit methods.
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
– Assess and contribute to companies’ mitigation strategies;
– Assess and criticize energy options, with a view to carbon neutrality;
– Develop an energy efficiency plan for a home;
– Have autonomy and critical capacity to analyse the challenges of the energy transition.
