Biomedicine: Historical Perspective

This course aims to lead students to reflect on the nature of biomedicine and its importance for the most current debates in Science, Medicine, and Society, aligned with the United Nations agenda. Students will be familiar with the evolution of historiographic narratives that will give them a more comprehensive approach to the production and circulation of medical knowledge, contributing to their comprehensive training, and awareness of the role of medicine and medicine in the social framework, with new approaches and responses at the local, national and global world.
