The aim of this course is to give students the necessary comprehension in basic analytical environmental chemistry with more focus in aquatic systems, and in water and wastewater treatment processes. Laboratory and field techniques in environmental engineering and its application to the understanding of natural and engineered ecosystems. Exercises involve data collection and analysis related to identifying and quantifying physical, chemical, and biological processes that govern the effects of human activity on the functioning of natural systems and/or the efficacy of engineered approaches to environmental problems.
