Through the first edition of Ideas Contest: IHMT (more) Sustainable 2024!, IHMT
encouraged the community to submit and vote for the most innovative and impactful ideas to make the institute more sustainable.
All the community was invited to participate, from students and faculty to researchers and non-teaching staff of IHMT-NOVA, as well as others who develop their activities on campus, are invited to submit their ideas. Proposals could be submitted individually or in groups of up to three people.
Ideas could include, but are not limited to, the promotion of: 1) Efficient use of energy and/or water, 2) Reducing waste generation; 3) Reducing the ecological footprint; 4) Creation of measures aimed at greater well-being of the IHMT-NOVA community, 5) Promotion of biodiversity on the IHMT-NOVA campus.
The winner and two honorable mentions were revealed during NOVA’s Roadmap for Climate Neutrality and Resilience Conference, which took place on October 16. The competition highlighted IHMT community commitment in the co-creation of a more sustainable school.
