In recent years, there has been an increase in requests for support from students whose eligibility is not covered by the Scholarships of DGES and whose costs of school life have increased (more than 25% of support requested annually are not covered).
The State scholarship system (DGES scholarships) has an income value from which students are excluded from the scholarships and, it is a low value, so it can leave students out of higher education.
The Geração NOVA Scholarships were created with the goal of handling this problem, being aimed at students who are outside the DGES Scholarships. Covering not only university fees, but also support in school materials, digital materials, computers, accommodation, food, among others. With these scholarships, NOVA intends that no student is left out of university studies for financial reasons.
