An European project, led by Professor José Ferreira (NOVA FCT), which aims to improve policies and practices for the prevention of marine litter from tourist, recreational, and coastal activities.
Currently, marine pollution is a growing concern for humanity. Marine plastic negatively influences marine ecosystems by interfering with the reproduction of fish caught in the sea. It is already contaminated with plastics and, therefore, harmful to health when introduced in food. The CAPONLITTER project seeks to find solutions to this type of problems, benefiting coastal populations.
